Deaconess
Deaconesses generally serve "behind the scenes" in the following areas:
Communion: Duties include filling the juice cups and the trays of bread Saturday morning before communion service and cleaning up the empty trays after each service. The morning communions are held every other month.
Baptism: Duties include setting up carpet runners and drip trays before service, providing towels and directions to the people getting baptized before and after the time of baptism, and cleaning up the water after service.
Meals: Keep updated list of church members willing to provide a meal and arrange for three meals to be taken to people just home from the hospital.
Card Ministry: Cards of encouragement are hand-written and mailed out to people in our church at the request of another member.
Decorating: Deaconesses are asked to help put up and take down decorations, generally for Christmas.
Baby Prayer Showers: An annual shower will be held for all women who attend our church and also any women in the community who would be blessed by prayer for them and their new baby. All moms who have had or will have a baby in that calendar year will be invited. This will be a time to shower on our new mom, the most important gift-prayer!

Heart-to-Heart
"The older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things-that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Titus 2:3-5
Heart-to-Heart ministry is a Mentor program in which new Christian women are paired up with a more mature Christian woman to provide guidance and nurturing for the new Christian.
Requirements for mentors are a one-year commitment to their partner and a heart for helping other women grow in their faith. Contact Gladys Harris for more information @ 792-3759
Fellowship/Funeral Committee
"We are simply God's servants...Each one of us does the work which the Lord gave him to do: I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow." 1 Corinthians 3:5-6
The Fellowship Committee is designed to serve in the kitchen for many occasions that occur in the church. They mostly serve at funerals, sometimes weddings, farewells or for visiting musical or missions groups. They also make coffee and orange juice for Sunday mornings.
Women's Bible Studies
Women's Bible Studies are held throughout the year. The chairperson researches different studies and finds teachers to lead the classes. You must sign-up for the classes and there is generally a charge for the materials.
This is a time for women to grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord and to grow in fellowship with their sisters in Christ.
